Authorities across India have intensified their crackdown on drug syndicates this October, resulting in the seizure of huge quantities of cocaine and other illegal substances.
In one of the biggest busts, Delhi Police’s Special Cell, in collaboration with Gujarat Police, discovered 518 kg of cocaine valued at ₹5,000 crore in a pharmaceutical factory in Ankleshwar, Gujarat. Investigations are ongoing to determine the company’s involvement in an international smuggling operation.
This raid is part of a broader effort to curb the drug trade in India. On October 1, police in South Delhi seized over 562 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana, with a total value of ₹5,620 crore. These operations led to several arrests in Amritsar and Chennai.
Another significant bust occurred in West Delhi’s Ramesh Nagar, where 208 kg of cocaine was found concealed in snack packaging inside a rented shop. Authorities estimate the value of this haul at ₹2,080 crore.
Adding to these successful operations, on October 6, officials uncovered a large drug manufacturing unit in Bhopal. A joint raid by the Gujarat ATS and NCB resulted in the seizure of 907 kg of mephedrone (MD), valued at ₹1,814 crore, from a factory producing 25 kg of MD daily.
Indian law enforcement continues to combat the growing drug trade with these critical operations, making significant progress in dismantling key networks.
